Years spent working as an oceanologist took Mikhail on long expeditions, international projects and assignments in different parts of the world. Home was often thousands of kilometres away, while the people who mattered most were left waiting for the next reunion. Those journeys became more than professional experience. They became stories.
Rather than writing about imaginary characters, Mikhail prefers to write about real people and real emotions. His songs rarely offer simple answers. Instead, they invite listeners to recognise something of themselves within each story.
His musical language draws inspiration from the elegance of Sergei Rachmaninov, the poetry of Frédéric Chopin, the artistry of Emil Gilels and the expressive direction of Natalia Raspopova. Jazz, soul and contemporary ballads come together to create a warm, intimate and unmistakably personal sound.
